Screening Video Material

Written By: Site Administrator on July 1, 2010 4 Comments

Some participants have raised the question of whether they can supply video material to be screened during C:ADM2010. Despite the technical challenges involved in this we are keen to make this possible.

The management of EMPAC (our conference venue) will provide the possibility to run a video loop that contains all participant-supplied video material if we compile it into one single file. Therefore, there are strict technical format requirements for supplied video materials that must be fulfilled precisely as detailed in the FAQ. Video material supplied in other formats will be very unlikely to be screened.

Video files should be made available to Jennifer Kanary Nikolov(a) at jenniferkanary@yahoo.com, who will handle all communication about them, as well as compile them into loops.

EMPAC requires the following format for video. This is not open to negotiation. If you wish a video to be screened, you will need to provide it to Jennifer in this format.

    compressed using H264
    sound in ACC
    bit rate, 3000kb/sec

resolution: 2 resolutions are possible: 1280 x 720, or 1920 x 1080. If you use the larger (HD) please also send a file in the smaller format.

There is likely to be a length limit, so please keep videos short.

You should discuss with Jennifer how to get your video material to her. Contact her at jenniferkanary@yahoo.com.

    Thank you, Ranulph

    Hi All,

I’m maintaining a 5 min guideline for all video’s if that’s okay. I will design a simple fade-in and out that holds the name of the person’s video and how long it takes so that the display is harmonious. Please keep credits to a minimum in your film.

The idea is to have a small document that will accompany the video’s with more information on who you are and what the video is about.

I would prefer to receive all video’s before the 21st of July.

    Thanks! Looking forward!

I have an interactive multimedia presentation on the Cybernetics of Gertrude Stein that I presented years ago at an ASC meeting in CA. Shall I bring it? It requires me in order to be “complete.”

I also have several shorts from past ASC on particular topics that might be of interests to others I shall bring them.

Judy: this I think goes under the presentation heading. If you want to show this, we will try to accommodate it during the evenings. I will email you directly.
