Dr. Dmitry V. Galkin, born March 1975, Omsk, Russia. Defended Ph.D thesis in 2002 on virtualization of experience in postmodern culture. In 1999-2009 I was involved in research and professional development projects in US, Hungary, Netherlands, Austria, UK. Research interests: art and computer technology, science and hybrid art, history of technological art, creativity and technology, cultural theory, cybernetic revolution and cultural transformations in XXth century. Published more than 50 articles. Since 2001 till now I am a professor of history and theory of culture at Tomsk State University (Russia), Institute of Arts and Culture. Courses taught: “Theory and History of Digital
Culture”, “History of Art, Design and Technology”, “Introduction to Computer Game Studies”, “Applications of Artificial Intelligence”. I was also involved in creative consultancy for cultural projects and cultural policies. Personal art practice includes electronic music performances (2001-2003).
